Diti’s Untimely Desire and the Birth-Cause of the Asura Line
Prelude to Hiranyākṣa–Varāha
kaśyapa uvāca kṛta-śokānutāpena sadyaḥ pratyavamarśanāt bhagavaty uru-mānāc ca bhave mayy api cādarāt
This verse teaches that immediate reflection, sorrow, and remorse—joined with reverence for Bhagavan—can restore auspiciousness and spiritual welfare.
Because Diti quickly reconsidered her act, felt genuine remorse, and still showed devotion to the Lord and respect to Kashyapa; therefore he foretold a redeeming, saintly descendant.
When one errs, promptly acknowledge it, repent sincerely, and realign with devotion and right conduct—this inner correction can transform future outcomes.
