Viśvarūpa’s Death, Vṛtrāsura’s Manifestation, and the Devas’ Surrender to Nārāyaṇa
śrī-śuka uvāca athaivam īḍito rājan sādaraṁ tri-daśair hariḥ svam upasthānam ākarṇya prāha tān abhinanditaḥ
This verse states that when Lord Hari is sincerely and respectfully praised, He hears the devotees’ appeal and responds—speaking to them while being pleased with their devotion.
Śukadeva is narrating the episode directly to King Parīkṣit, keeping the dialogue intimate and reminding the listener that these events are being taught as guidance for a ruler and seeker.
Offer prayer or remembrance with sincerity and respect rather than entitlement; the takeaway is to approach the Divine with humility and steadiness, trusting that guidance comes in response to genuine devotion.
