श्रीराजोवाच देवासुरनृणां सर्गो नागानां मृगपक्षिणाम् । सामासिकस्त्वया प्रोक्तो यस्तु स्वायम्भुवेऽन्तरे ॥ १ ॥ तस्यैव व्यासमिच्छामि ज्ञातुं ते भगवन् यथा । अनुसर्गं यया शक्त्या ससर्ज भगवान् पर: ॥ २ ॥
śrī-rājovāca devāsura-nṛṇāṁ sargo nāgānāṁ mṛga-pakṣiṇām sāmāsikas tvayā prokto yas tu svāyambhuve ’ntare
圣王说道：在自生摩奴的时期，天神、阿修罗、人类、那伽、走兽与飞鸟等被创造出来；你已略说其要。如今，尊者啊，我愿更详尽地了知此事，并愿知至上薄伽梵以何种神力成就次第创造（anusarga）。
