श्रीशुक उवाच शुक्ले मार्गशिरे पक्षे योषिद्भर्तुरनुज्ञया । आरभेत व्रतमिदं सार्वकामिकमादित: ॥ २ ॥ निशम्य मरुतां जन्म ब्राह्मणाननुमन्त्र्य च । स्नात्वा शुक्लदती शुक्ले वसीतालङ्कृताम्बरे । पूजयेत्प्रातराशात्प्राग्भगवन्तं श्रिया सह ॥ ३ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca śukle mārgaśire pakṣe yoṣid bhartur anujñayā ārabheta vratam idaṁ sārva-kāmikam āditaḥ
舒迦提婆·高斯瓦弥说：在阿格拉哈亚那月（玛尔迦希尔沙月）明半月的第一天，女子应依丈夫许可开始此具苦行的奉爱誓愿，能成就一切所愿。礼拜毗湿奴之前，应先聆听风神众（Marut）诞生的故事；在合格婆罗门的指导下，清晨洁齿沐浴，身着白衣佩饰，并在早餐之前礼拜与吉祥天女室利·拉克希米同在的至尊毗湿奴。
