Vasu, known by the epithet Uparicara, is presented here as an ancestor in the Puru dynasty line, from whom further royal descendants are listed.
It states that from Vasu’s line came rulers of the Cedi country, including kings such as Kuśāmba, Matsya, and Pratyagra.
It helps a reader connect later narratives to their sacred historical roots, seeing how the Lord’s pastimes and dharma unfold through specific dynasties and kingdoms.
