Paraśurāma Avenges Jamadagni; Restoration Through Sacrifice; Viśvāmitra’s Line and Devarāta (Śunaḥśepha)
vilapyaivaṁ pitur dehaṁ nidhāya bhrātṛṣu svayam pragṛhya paraśuṁ rāmaḥ kṣatrāntāya mano dadhe
After his father Jamadagni was killed, Paraśurāma took up his axe and resolved to end the oppressive kṣatriya power, as described here by Śukadeva Gosvāmī.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is narrating the history of Paraśurāma to King Parīkṣit.
It highlights how intense grief can harden into determination; the verse invites reflection on channeling strong emotions through dharma and higher discernment rather than impulsive revenge.
