Bhāgavata-Māhātmya and the Complete Summary of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam
bhakti-yogaḥ samākhyāto vairāgyaṁ ca tad-āśrayam pārīkṣitam upākhyānaṁ nāradākhyānam eva ca
This verse states that bhakti-yoga is taught along with vairāgya that depends upon bhakti—true detachment is supported by devotion, not merely by dry rejection.
Because their narratives are central teaching vehicles in the Bhāgavatam: Parīkṣit’s final days embody hearing and surrender, and Nārada’s life and instructions exemplify devotional progression and guidance.
Practice steady devotion (hearing, chanting, remembering) and let detachment arise naturally—reduce unhealthy cravings by increasing absorption in Krishna-centered remembrance and service.
