Bhāgavata-Māhātmya and the Complete Summary of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam
पतित: स्खलितश्चार्त: क्षुत्त्वा वा विवशो गृणन् । हरये नम इत्युच्चैर्मुच्यते सर्वपातकात् ॥ ४७ ॥
patitaḥ skhalitaś cārtaḥ kṣuttvā vā vivaśo gṛṇan haraye nama ity uccair mucyate sarva-pātakāt
即便在跌倒、滑倒、受痛或打喷嚏时,若有人不由自主高声呼喊“南无哈利!”亦能从一切罪业反应中解脱。
Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura explains that Lord Śrī Caitanya is always loudly chanting the song haraye namaḥ kṛṣṇa in the courtyard of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura and that this same Lord Caitanya will free us from our materialistic enjoying propensity if we also loudly chant the glories of the Supreme Lord Hari.
This verse states that even an accidental or helpless utterance of “Haraye nama” can free one from all sins, highlighting the extraordinary purifying power of Hari-nāma.
He stresses that the Lord’s name is supremely sacred and effective; even when spoken without full control or formal intent, it can still purify and protect the speaker.
Make remembrance of Hari natural and frequent—keep the holy name on the tongue daily so that in distress or distraction, devotion still arises and purifies the heart.
