Mārkaṇḍeya Ṛṣi Meets Lord Śiva: Devotee as Living Tīrtha and the Lord’s Māyā
śrī-bhagavān uvāca varaṁ vṛṇīṣva naḥ kāmaṁ vara-deśā vayaṁ trayaḥ amoghaṁ darśanaṁ yeṣāṁ martyo yad vindate ’mṛtam
This verse states that the audience (darśana) of such exalted divine beings is never futile; by seeing them, a mortal can attain amṛta—deathlessness or liberation.
In this context the Lord speaks as the divine triad capable of granting boons, emphasizing their authority to fulfill a devotee’s desire and the extraordinary spiritual potency of their audience.
Seek uplifting association and sacred vision—regularly take darśana of the Deity, study Bhagavatam, and keep company with sincere devotees—because spiritually potent encounters can transform ordinary life toward liberation.
