Bhṛgu Tests the Trimūrti; Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna Visit Mahā-Viṣṇu and Recover the Brāhmaṇa’s Sons
māvamaṁsthā mama brahman vīryaṁ tryambaka-toṣaṇam mṛtyuṁ vijitya pradhane āneṣye te prajāḥ prabho
In this verse, Śrī Kṛṣṇa declares that He can defeat death itself and promises to restore the brāhmaṇa’s lost child, showing the Lord’s supreme power and protection of devotees.
The brāhmaṇa had been doubting and criticizing the kings’ ability to protect his children; Kṛṣṇa responds by asking him not to belittle His divine prowess and vows to retrieve the child.
The verse encourages steady faith: instead of despairing, one can take shelter of the Lord’s protection, pray sincerely, and act with courage, trusting that divine grace can transform even the most hopeless situation.
