The Solar Eclipse at Samanta-pañcaka and the Great Reunion of Yādavas, Pāṇḍavas, and Vraja
tatra snātvā mahā-bhāgā upoṣya su-samāhitāḥ brāhmaṇebhyo dadur dhenūr vāsaḥ-srag-rukma-mālinīḥ
This verse highlights dharmic charity: after purification (bathing) and vrata (fasting), the devotees give valuable gifts—especially cows—along with clothing, garlands, and gold to brāhmaṇas.
The verse presents a traditional sequence of sacred practice—purification and mental focus through bathing and fasting—followed by dāna, making the offering spiritually intentional rather than merely social.
Prepare the mind (simplicity, prayer, restraint), then give thoughtfully—supporting genuine spiritual education and service, and offering essentials (food, clothing, care) with respect and devotion.
