Garga Muni Names Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma; the Butter-Thief Pastimes; Yaśodā Sees the Universe in Kṛṣṇa’s Mouth
sūpaviṣṭaṁ kṛtātithyaṁ girā sūnṛtayā munim nandayitvābravīd brahman pūrṇasya karavāma kim
This verse shows Nanda Mahārāja respectfully seating the sage, speaking sweet and truthful words, and asking what service he can offer—presenting hospitality and service to saintly persons as a core devotional virtue.
Although Garga Muni is described as self-satisfied, Nanda expresses humility and gratitude, seeking an opportunity to serve; this sets the mood for requesting the naming ceremony and blessings for the children.
Receive guests with respect, speak kindly and truthfully, and adopt a service attitude—especially toward spiritually learned persons—rather than approaching them only to take something.
