Balarāma Humbles the Kurus and Rescues Sāmba
taṁ te jighṛkṣavaḥ kruddhās tiṣṭha tiṣṭheti bhāṣiṇaḥ āsādya dhanvino bāṇaiḥ karṇāgraṇyaḥ samākiran
This verse depicts warriors driven by anger attempting to capture their opponent, showing how krodha fuels violent action and escalates conflict in kṣatriya warfare.
In the narrative, powerful fighters aligned with the Kuru side advance under leading heroes like Karṇa, and their immediate tactic is to overwhelm the opponent with a concentrated arrow volley.
Unchecked anger quickly turns intention into harm; pausing before reacting—rather than “rushing forward”—prevents escalation and protects one’s dharma and relationships.
