Kṛṣṇa Defeats Bāṇāsura and Receives Śiva’s Prayers
The Śoṇitapura Battle and the Jvara Episode
विद्राविते भूतगणे ज्वरस्तु त्रिशिरास्त्रीपात् । अभ्यधावत दाशार्हं दहन्निव दिशो दश ॥ २२ ॥
vidrāvite bhūta-gaṇe jvaras tu trī-śirās trī-pāt abhyadhāvata dāśārhaṁ dahann iva diśo daśa
湿婆的鬼众被驱散后,三头三足的湿婆热病武器(湿婆-阇伐罗)冲向达沙尔诃的主奎师那;它逼近时仿佛焚烧十方。
Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī quotes the following description of the Śiva-jvara:
This verse describes the personified fever (Jvara) charging toward Śrī Kṛṣṇa after the bhūta host is scattered, showing how even supernatural afflictions are confronted in Kṛṣṇa’s līlā.
In the battle narrative, demonic and mystical forces are deployed against Kṛṣṇa; here Jvara, sent forth through Triśiras’ power, attacks Kṛṣṇa directly after the supporting bhūtas are driven away.
The verse reminds devotees that intense disturbances—physical or mental—can be met by taking shelter of Kṛṣṇa, trusting divine protection amid overwhelming conditions.
