The Slaying of Narakāsura (Bhaumāsura), Rescue of the Princesses, and the Pārijāta Episode Begins
dṛṣṭvā sa-bhāryaṁ garuḍopari sthitaṁ sūryopariṣṭāt sa-taḍid ghanaṁ yathā kṛṣṇaṁ sa tasmai vyasṛjac chata-ghnīṁ yodhāś ca sarve yugapac ca vivyadhuḥ
This verse describes Kṛṣṇa seated on Garuḍa with His wife, appearing like a lightning-filled cloud above the sun, as the enemy launches a śataghnī weapon and the warriors attack simultaneously.
In the narrative of Canto 10, Kṛṣṇa goes to confront Narakāsura and Satyabhāmā accompanies Him; this verse highlights their presence together on Garuḍa at the moment the enemy begins the assault.
Even when opposition comes from many directions at once, the Bhagavatam portrays the Lord as steady and protective—encouraging devotees to remain composed, faithful, and centered in remembrance of Kṛṣṇa during trials.
