Mucukunda’s Departure; Jarāsandha’s Pursuit; Prelude to Rukmiṇī’s Abduction
Rukmiṇī’s Message Begins
rukmy agrajo rukmaratho rukmabāhur anantaraḥ rukmakeśo rukmamālī rukmiṇy eṣā svasā satī
The verse lists Rukmī and his brothers—Rukmaratha, Rukmabāhu, Rukmakeśa, and Rukmamālī—identifying Rukmiṇī as their virtuous sister.
He is establishing the family context of Rukmiṇī within the Vidarbha royal line, which becomes important for understanding the social and political tensions surrounding her marriage to Lord Kṛṣṇa.
It reminds readers that spiritual narratives often include concrete historical and relational details—helping us understand dharma, duty, and devotion within real family and societal settings.
