The Lord’s Advent: Yoga-māyā’s Mission, Saṅkarṣaṇa’s Transfer, and the Demigods’ Prayers
अथाहमंशभागेन देवक्या: पुत्रतां शुभे । प्राप्स्यामि त्वं यशोदायां नन्दपत्न्यां भविष्यसि ॥ ९ ॥
athāham aṁśa-bhāgena devakyāḥ putratāṁ śubhe prāpsyāmi tvaṁ yaśodāyāṁ nanda-patnyāṁ bhaviṣyasi
噢,至吉祥的瑜伽幻力(Yoga-māyā)!我将以具足圆满威德的形相,作为提婆姬之子降现;而你将作为南陀大王王后耶输陀之女而出生。
The word aṁśa-bhāgena is important in this verse. In Bhagavad-gītā (10.42) the Lord says:
This verse states that the Lord will appear by a partial expansion as Devakī’s son, indicating a divine descent arranged by the Supreme for His līlā.
Because the Lord’s internal potency (Yogamāyā) arranges that His childhood pastimes unfold in Vraja—so the divine plan includes Yaśodā giving birth to the Lord’s potency, who will become Nanda’s wife.
The verse encourages trust that the Lord’s plan works through His energies—devotees can practice steadiness in bhakti, accepting life’s changes as opportunities to serve with faith.
