Dhruva’s Benediction from Kuvera and His Ascension to Viṣṇuloka
Dhruvaloka
महिमानं विलोक्यास्य नारदो भगवानृषि: । आतोद्यं वितुदञ्श्लोकान् सत्रेऽगायत्प्रचेतसाम् ॥ ४० ॥
mahimānaṁ vilokyāsya nārado bhagavān ṛṣiḥ ātodyaṁ vitudañ ślokān satre ’gāyat pracetasām
纳罗陀大圣仙见到德鲁瓦王的荣耀,便拨弄维那琴,前往普罗切塔众的祭祀会场,欢喜地吟唱了以下三首偈颂。
The great sage Nārada was the spiritual master of Dhruva Mahārāja. Certainly he was very glad to see Dhruva’s glories. As a father is very happy to see the son’s advancement in every respect, so the spiritual master is very happy to observe the ascendancy of his disciple.
Because Dhruva’s devotion and divine attainment are worthy of public glorification; Nārada responds by kīrtana—praising the Lord and His devotee through sacred song.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is narrating to King Parīkṣit, describing how Nārada praised Dhruva in the assembly of the Pracetās.
It encourages praising genuine devotion through kīrtana, keeping saintly association, and using music or speech to remember and glorify the Lord and His devotees.
