Dhruva’s War with the Yakṣas and the Protection of the Holy Name
sa tān āpatato vīra ugra-dhanvā mahā-rathaḥ ekaikaṁ yugapat sarvān ahan bāṇais tribhis tribhiḥ
This verse depicts an intense moment where the warrior Ugradhanvā counters attackers with exceptional martial skill, striking each with three arrows even as many rush him at once.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates this verse to Mahārāja Parīkṣit while describing the events surrounding Dhruva’s campaign and its associated battles.
It highlights focused execution under pressure—meeting multiple challenges with steadiness and precision—while reminding readers that power and prowess should remain aligned with dharma.
