Kūrma Supports Mandara; Hālahala Appears; Śiva Becomes Nīlakaṇṭha
त्वं शब्दयोनिर्जगदादिरात्मा प्राणेन्द्रियद्रव्यगुण: स्वभाव: । काल: क्रतु: सत्यमृतं च धर्म- स्त्वय्यक्षरं यत् त्रिवृदामनन्ति ॥ २५ ॥
tvaṁ śabda-yonir jagad-ādir ātmā prāṇendriya-dravya-guṇaḥ svabhāvaḥ kālaḥ kratuḥ satyam ṛtaṁ ca dharmas tvayy akṣaraṁ yat tri-vṛd-āmananti
噢主啊,您是吠陀圣言的本源,是宇宙创生的最初因;您即是生命气(prāṇa)、诸根、五大、三德(guṇa)与大本原(mahat-tattva)。您是永恒之时、坚决之志,以及名为satya与ṛta的法道。三字母a-u-m所成的“唵”(Om)亦依止于您。
This verse declares that the Lord is śabda-yoni—the origin of revealed sound—meaning the Vedas ultimately arise from Him and point back to Him as the Supreme reality.
In the crisis surrounding the churning of the ocean, the Devas seek the Lord’s shelter by recognizing Him as the inner basis of all cosmic functions—time, yajña, truth, ṛta, and dharma—without which their efforts cannot succeed.
Treat duties, worship, and ethics as offerings to the Lord, remembering that time, capacity, and results rest in Him—this cultivates humility, steadiness, and devotion.
