Aditi’s Lament and Kaśyapa’s Instruction of the Payo-vrata (Milk Vow) to Please Keśava
नमो हिरण्यगर्भाय प्राणाय जगदात्मने । योगैश्वर्यशरीराय नमस्ते योगहेतवे ॥ ३३ ॥
namo hiraṇyagarbhāya prāṇāya jagad-ātmane yogaiśvarya-śarīrāya namas te yoga-hetave
我顶礼于你——安住为金胎(Hiraṇyagarbha)、为生命之气(Prāṇa)、为宇宙之灵(Jagad-Ātman)者;你的身躯是一切瑜伽神通之荣耀之源。我敬礼于你,瑜伽之因。
This verse addresses Viṣṇu as “yoga-hetu,” the very cause of yoga—meaning all yogic power, realization, and true union ultimately arise from Him.
While performing the Pāyovrata to seek divine help for the devas, Aditi glorifies Viṣṇu as the cosmic origin (Hiraṇyagarbha) and the universal Self, acknowledging Him as the supreme shelter behind creation and all life.
It encourages reverence for life, mindful breathing and prayer, and viewing all beings as connected—supporting compassion, steadiness, and devotion in daily conduct.
