Sukta 3
itaś-cá mām útaś-cāvatāṁ yamé iva yátamāne yadā́ etám | prá vāṁ bháran mā́nuṣā devayánta ā́ sīdatāṁ svámu lokáṁ vidā́ne
From this side and from that side, as though in Yama’s domain, let them protect me, the twain who strive, when men, god-seeking, bear this one forth. Let them sit down, finding their own world, their proper realm.
Rishi: Antyeṣṭi/Pitṛmedha Atharvanic tradition (anukramaṇī-dependent)
Devata: Dual protective guides/guardians associated with the path to Yama/Pitṛ-world (interpretation varies by tradition)
Chandas: Triṣṭubh-like (by length and cadence; edition-dependent)
