人于临终之际忆念何种存在之态,舍身之后便得彼态。又若在命终时将生命之气(prāṇa)安住于两眉之间,终将抵达归依于我的至上者(即以我为最高归宿而证得我)。

FAQs

It teaches antakāla-smṛti (the doctrine that the final remembered state determines one’s next attainment) and a yogic technique of prāṇa-nyāsa—fixing the life-breath at bhru-madhya (between the eyebrows) at death to reach the supreme goal.

Alongside ritual, law, and other sciences, the Agni Purāṇa also compiles practical yoga and liberation-instructions—here summarizing a core mokṣa doctrine (final remembrance) and a concrete meditative method (prāṇa fixation), showing its wide, handbook-like scope.

It emphasizes that the mind’s final orientation shapes one’s destiny; disciplined remembrance and prāṇa control at death direct consciousness toward the highest attainment—union with the Supreme as one’s ultimate refuge.
