Chapter 185 — नवमीव्रतानि (The Observances for Navamī)

火神阿耆尼向圣者婆悉吒传授与高丽/杜尔迦相应的那伐弥誓戒(Navamī-vrata),并明言许诺能成就遍及世间受用(bhukti)与解脱(mukti)的悉地。仪轨以历法精确为根本:将那伐弥称为“Piṣṭakā”,细察阿湿毗那月白半(Āśvina śukla)的时段与宿曜(nakṣatra)条件;礼敬女神后,规定食用以面粉制成之物。继而展开护国与王权的礼仪,以杜尔迦为摩醯沙摧伏者(Mahīṣamardinī),或住于九处坛位,或摄于一座圣龛,并依规定的多臂像法观想,手持特定兵器与法具。咒法修持详述:十音节的杜尔迦护身咒、诸辅咒,以及从拇指至小指的身分安置(nyāsa),强调秘传与不受阻碍。仪式并及兵器供养、女神威猛名号、按方位献供(某些传本含血肉供),最终落实为护国之举:以面团制敌像而令其失势,夜间礼拜诸母神(Mātṛ)与忿怒形相,施行五甘露(pañcāmṛta)沐浴、献bali,并以旗幡(dhvaja)与战车巡行(ratha-yātrā)等公共节仪为标志——融汇虔敬、像法与面向王法(Rājadharma)的守护。
