गुप्तं चाप्रकटं चरेदिति ग , ज , ट च आकार ग्रहणे राज्ञो मन्त्ररक्षा परा मता इत्य् अस्य स्थाने आकारेङ्गिततत्त्वज्ञः कार्याकार्यविचक्षण इति ट पुस्तकपाठः राजाधिभूतिमाप्नोतीति ज भूषितो भोजनङ्कुर्याद् दानाद्यैः सुपरीक्षितं भुक्त्वा गृहीतताम्बूलो वामपार्श्वेन संस्थितः
guptaṃ cāprakaṭaṃ carediti ga , ja , ṭa ca ākāra grahaṇe rājño mantrarakṣā parā matā ity asya sthāne ākāreṅgitatattvajñaḥ kāryākāryavicakṣaṇa iti ṭa pustakapāṭhaḥ rājādhibhūtimāpnotīti ja bhūṣito bhojanaṅkuryād dānādyaiḥ suparīkṣitaṃ bhuktvā gṛhītatāmbūlo vāmapārśvena saṃsthitaḥ
应当行止隐密，不自我张扬。于辨察国王外在神色之时，守护谋议之机密被视为至上要务。（某些抄本改作：“通晓形貌与举止之真实义，并能明辨可为与不可为者。”另有抄本增曰：“其人得居于王上之优位。”）其人应适当装饰，进食须经布施等方式严密检验之食物（即由可信之法加以核验）；食毕并含嚼 tāmbūla（槟榔叶/蒌叶）后，当立于王之左侧。
