चन्द्रशर्मोवाच । यदि तात मयाऽज्ञानान्न कृतं द्वादशीव्रतम् । कस्मात्कृतं सशल्यं तु भवद्भिर्द्वादशीव्रतम्
candraśarmovāca | yadi tāta mayā'jñānānna kṛtaṃ dvādaśīvratam | kasmātkṛtaṃ saśalyaṃ tu bhavadbhirdvādaśīvratam
Candraśarman nói: “Thưa cha, nếu vì vô tri mà con không thực hành trai giới Dvādaśī, vậy cớ sao các ngài lại thực hành trai giới Dvādaśī với ‘gai nhọn’, tức là với vết nhơ khiếm khuyết?”
Candraśarman
Tirtha: Dvārakā
Type: kshetra
Scene: A son (Candraśarman) questions elders/ancestors about a blemished Dvādaśī observance; the atmosphere is grave, with ritual paraphernalia nearby and a sense of unseen ancestral presence.
Ignorance and improper performance are both problems; dharma requires right knowledge and right execution.
Indirectly, the Prabhāsa–Dvārakā sacred setting where vows like Dvādaśī are taught as efficacious.
The Dvādaśī-vrata is discussed, emphasizing that it should be performed without ‘saśalya’ (defect/blemish).
