विषण्णमनसो देवाः समहेंद्रास्तदाभवन् । जातामात्रस्तु दैत्येंद्रस्तारकश्चंडविक्रमः
viṣaṇṇamanaso devāḥ samaheṃdrāstadābhavan | jātāmātrastu daityeṃdrastārakaścaṃḍavikramaḥ
Bấy giờ chư thiên—cùng với Đế Thích (Indra)—đều trở nên u sầu. Vì Tāraka, dũng mãnh hung liệt, ngay từ khoảnh khắc vừa sinh ra đã là chúa tể của loài Daitya.
