Skanda
Tirtha: Prayāga
Type: sangam
Scene: Personified direction-maidens (dik-kanyās) stand at the edges of the world, hands folded, pleading to the winds that blow from Prayāga; the wind is shown as a subtle deity carrying sacred mist toward them.
Prayāga’s purity is so pervasive that even its air is depicted as sanctifying—holiness extends beyond water to the entire sacred environment.
Prayāga, specifically its ‘anila’ (winds/air) as a sanctifying presence.
No direct prescription; it poetically supports the broader Prayāga purification theme (snāna and tīrtha-contact).
