Type: kshetra
Listener: Primary interlocutor within Kāśīkhaṇḍa frame (traditionally sages/Śaunaka-group in Purāṇic setting)
Scene: Śiva, consumed by inner heat of separation, laments that life itself would end without Himālaya’s daughter; the background hints at Kāśī as the cooling, saving horizon.
Even Śiva’s speech frames separation and suffering as a force that drives the soul toward the supreme refuge—Kāśī/Avimukta—where liberation is promised.
Kāśī, implied as the ultimate solace for Śiva’s burning separation, setting up the Avimukta-kṣetra mahātmya.
None directly; the verse is emotional-theological, preparing the ground for Kāśī’s salvific greatness rather than prescribing a rite.
