Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: A compassionate teacher explains toe signs to a concerned woman devotee; the ‘broad’ and ‘overlong’ big toe are shown as cautionary, while soft, compact, rounded, slightly raised toes are shown as auspicious. Lamps and a Gaṅgā-view window set the Kāśī ambiance.
It reflects a traditional karmic reading of bodily features, emphasizing that worldly conditions are seen as effects of prior actions and should be met with dharma and restraint.
The teaching sits within the Kāśīkhaṇḍa framework that extols Kāśī, though the verse itself is part of a physiognomic (lakṣaṇa) section.
No direct ritual is stated in this verse.
