dhigdhiṅnarāmiṣaṃ rājaṃ stvayaitacchadmakāriṇā | khalenopahṛtaṃ me'dya ato rakṣo bhaviṣyasi
Scene: Vasiṣṭha, stern and blazing with ascetic power, condemns the presence of human flesh and pronounces a curse; the king stands shocked; attendants recoil; the dish is central as the symbol of adharma.
A ruler bears responsibility for what is served and sanctioned in his house; negligence or perceived deceit against dharma invites swift karmic downfall.
No holy site is praised here; the verse centers on dharma-violation and the power of a ṛṣi’s word.
None directly; the implied rule is uncompromising purity in offerings and meals given to gurus and sages.
