Dù ở trong đền thờ, nơi chuồng bò, tại thánh tích, hay ngay trong sân nhà mình, người ta nên chuẩn bị một bệ thờ trang nghiêm, cao chừng một gang và rộng khoảng hai gang tay.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: Affirms that Śiva-pūjā is not restricted to a famed kṣetra; any properly prepared locus (temple, gośālā, caitya, or home-courtyard) can become a sanctified field for receiving Śiva’s grace (anugraha) when done with vidhi and bhakti.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
It teaches that Shiva’s worship is not restricted to grand temples; any pure place—temple, shrine, cowshed, or home courtyard—can become sacred when arranged with reverence, supporting steady bhakti and inner purity.
By prescribing a dedicated, elevated, and adorned seat/platform, the verse supports proper external worship of Saguna Shiva as the Linga—creating a focused ritual space that mirrors inner concentration on Pati (Shiva).
Prepare a clean, slightly raised altar of appropriate size and decorate it before beginning Shiva-puja—then worship with mantra (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a steady, collected mind.
