Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Significance: Śravaṇa/pāṭha of Śiva-kathā is itself a tīrtha-like purifier: it generates dharma-viveka and jñāna-siddhi, preparing the soul for Śiva’s grace.
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It teaches that śravaṇa (hearing) and pāṭha (recitation) of Shaiva scripture awaken dharmic discernment and mature into jñāna-siddhi—spiritual knowledge becoming effective and transformative.
By praising hearing/reciting the chapter, it supports Saguna Shiva devotion through scriptural engagement, which refines the devotee’s understanding of right practice and leads toward realization of Shiva as Pati (the Lord) beyond bondage.
Regular śravaṇa and daily recitation as a vrata-like discipline; it can be paired with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to stabilize dharma-buddhi and deepen jñāna.
