गायत्र् या जपमंत्रांते त्रिरूर्ध्वं प्राग्विनिक्षिपेत् । मंत्रेण सह चैकं वै मध्येऽर्घ्यं तु रवेर्द्विजा
gāyatr yā japamaṃtrāṃte trirūrdhvaṃ prāgvinikṣipet | maṃtreṇa saha caikaṃ vai madhye'rghyaṃ tu raverdvijā
Khi kết thúc việc trì tụng (japa), người hai lần sinh (dvija) nên cùng với Gāyatrī dâng nước ba lần hướng lên về phía đông. Rồi, kèm theo thần chú, lại dâng một lễ arghya ở khoảng giữa lên Đức Nhật Thần, hỡi các bà-la-môn.

It teaches disciplined completion of japa through arghya—an outward act that seals inner mantra-practice, purifies the practitioner, and aligns the mind with dharma before proceeding to Shaiva worship.
By prescribing sandhya-style purification and arghya after japa, the text establishes ritual fitness (adhikāra) for approaching Saguna Shiva in Linga worship—outer order supporting inner devotion and steadiness.
After completing mantra japa, offer water thrice upward facing east with the Gāyatrī, then offer a central arghya to Sūrya while reciting the mantra—serving as a purification and transition into further puja.
