Sagara-vaṃśa-prasavaḥ — The Birth of Sagara’s Sons and the Bhāgīratha Lineage
Suta Goswami (narrating the Purana to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Cosmic Event: Yuga-cycle progression (Kali → Brāhma period → Kṛta) indicating cyclic time and restoration.
It frames worldly power and dynastic success as Yuga-bound and impermanent, implying that true auspiciousness is secured by aligning with Dharma and devotion to Pati (Shiva), beyond the fluctuations of time.
By highlighting instability in Kali and restoration in Kṛta, it indirectly urges reliance on Saguna Shiva worship (Linga-upāsanā) as a steady refuge and purifier when social and royal orders are unsettled.
A practical takeaway for Kali Yuga is steady daily Shiva-sādhana—japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa—so one’s inner order remains established despite outer change.
