It highlights Shiva’s līlā in which the Lord allows a devotee’s valor to manifest while still demonstrating divine supremacy—teaching that spiritual victory is rooted in humility and surrender to Pati (Shiva), not mere skill.
The verse portrays Saguna Shiva acting in the world, showing that devotion can be directed to Shiva’s manifest form and deeds; such līlās deepen bhakti that later matures into steadiness in Linga-worship and contemplation of Shiva as Pati.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate focused japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with single-pointed attention (like an arrow), paired with humility and offering the fruits of effort to Shiva.
