Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Mantra-upāsanā that yields bhukti (well-being, prosperity) and mukti (liberation) and establishes the aspirant in Śaiva-dharma.
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It declares mantra as a direct means to Śiva’s grace (prīti/anugraha): through japa and devotion, the seeker gains both dharmic well-being in life and the higher fruit of liberation, aligning with the Shaiva aim of approaching Pati (Śiva).
In Shiva Purana practice, mantra is typically joined to Saguna worship—especially Linga-pūjā—where sound (mantra) and form (liṅga) together focus devotion, purify the mind, and draw Śiva’s favor, culminating in inner realization beyond form.
Regular mantra-japa with devotion—ideally alongside Śiva worship such as Linga-abhisheka, wearing rudrākṣa, and applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma)—is implied as the practical discipline that yields auspiciousness, desired aims, and spiritual release.
