गजासुरतपः–देवलोकक्षोभः

Gajāsura’s Austerities and the Disturbance of the Worlds

स इत्थं निर्जितककुबेकराड् विषयान्प्रियान् । यथोपजोषं भुंजानो नातृप्यदजितेन्द्रियः

Transliteration

sa itthaṃ nirjitakakubekarāḍ viṣayānpriyān | yathopajoṣaṃ bhuṃjāno nātṛpyadajitendriyaḥ

Translation

Vì thế, tuy đã chinh phục các chúa tể bốn phương và đạt được những đối tượng hưởng thụ đáng yêu, hắn vẫn tùy ý đắm mình trong đó; nhưng do các căn (indriya) chưa được chế ngự, hắn chẳng bao giờ biết thỏa mãn. Theo lập trường Shaiva, thắng lợi bên ngoài mà không làm chủ indriya không thể đem lại śānti; chỉ có bhakti đối với Śiva và sự tự chế nội tâm mới dẫn dần đến giải thoát.
