Bāṇāsura’s Wrathful Command and the Onset of Battle at the Inner Palace
Sūta Gosvāmi (narrating the command given by a king/commander within the Yuddhakhaṇḍa episode)

The verse highlights dharma as protective order: adharma must be restrained so that the righteous can pursue devotion to Pati (Śiva). In Śaiva Siddhānta terms, unchecked wrongdoing strengthens pāśa (bondage) in society; discipline restores conditions supportive of bhakti and right conduct.
While not directly about liṅga-ritual, it reflects Saguna Śiva’s governance through dharma—protecting devotees and the moral order. The Purāṇa’s narrative frame often shows that devotion and worship flourish when adharma is contained and the community is safeguarded.
No specific ritual is prescribed in this line; the practical takeaway is self-restraint and vigilance. A Śaiva practitioner may internalize this as guarding the mind from “durācāra” (harmful impulses) through japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and disciplined conduct.
