Hiraṇyakaśipu’s Wrath and the Affliction of Devas and Beings
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Kālāntaka
Cosmic Event: yugānta (end-of-aeon) fire imagery
The verse presents Śiva as Īśa whose light equals the pralaya-fire, indicating His supremacy over time and dissolution; as jaganmaya, He is the inner reality pervading all, the Pati beyond the changing cosmos.
Though describing a battlefield movement, it points to Saguna Śiva whose overwhelming tejas is still the sign of the Nirguna reality; the Liṅga is worshiped as that same all-pervading Lord made accessible for devotion.
Meditate on Śiva’s all-pervading brilliance while repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” visualizing His tejas dissolving fear and tamas; this aligns the mind with the Lord who transcends day, night, and cosmic endings.
