A devotee/Deva praising Lord Shiva (as narrated by Suta Goswami in the Rudrasaṃhitā, Yuddhakhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a site-legend; it is a doctrinal proclamation of Śiva’s paratva (supremacy) over Brahmā and Viṣṇu as functional deities.
Significance: Contemplation of Śiva as sarvakāraṇa-kāraṇa and sākṣin supports śaraṇāgati and steadies the aspirant toward grace (anugraha).
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It proclaims Shiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord): the ultimate cause, untouched by change (nirvikārī) and ever-present as the inner Witness (sākṣī). This directs devotion toward liberation through recognizing Shiva as the Paramātmā beyond all limited agencies.
Though Shiva is declared transcendent and formless as the changeless Witness, devotees approach that same Reality through saguna upāsanā—especially the Śiva-liṅga—where the infinite (nirguṇa) is reverently worshiped in an accessible form.
Meditate on Shiva as the inner Witness while japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and offer simple liṅga-pūjā to align outer worship with the inner recognition of the Paramātmā.
