rājāpi śroṣyati yadā tava duśceṣṭitaṃ suta | śraddhāṃ vihāya te tāte vṛttilopaṃ kariṣyati
Này con, khi nhà vua nghe về hành vi xấu xa của con, người sẽ từ bỏ lòng tin nơi cha con và sẽ cắt đứt kế sinh nhai của ông ấy.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Rudrasaṃhitā account to the sages, conveying an admonitory dialogue within the story)

It teaches that adharma breaks śraddhā (trust) and severs one’s worldly support; in Shaiva thought, ethical restraint is a necessary foundation for bhakti and inner purity that leads toward grace (anugraha).
Linga worship is upheld by śraddhā and right conduct; when misconduct spreads, faith and patronage decline, weakening one’s capacity to maintain disciplined devotion to Saguna Shiva through daily pūjā.
A practical takeaway is to restore conduct through regular japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with vows of truthful speech and restraint, so that devotion is supported by dhārmic living.
