Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
It highlights how worldly joy and auspicious celebrations arise around divine events, yet such happiness remains within saṁsāra; in Shaiva understanding, true fulfillment matures when devotion turns toward Pati (Shiva), the ultimate source of bliss beyond changing circumstances.
Though the verse describes Daksha’s familial joy, the Sati-kathā ultimately leads to Sati’s unwavering orientation to Shiva as Saguna Ishvara; the narrative prepares the devotee to see Shiva-worship (including Linga-upāsanā) as the stable refuge beyond social pride and ritual display.
Use auspicious occasions to anchor daily Shiva-bhakti: recite the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with a calm mind, offering simple worship (water, bilva leaves, or bhasma/tripundra as appropriate) to redirect celebration into remembrance of Shiva.
