It links cosmic generation to the Pitṛs, showing that ancestral beings are part of the divinely ordered creation; honoring them supports dharma and harmonizes one’s obligations while progressing toward Shiva-oriented liberation.
In Shaiva practice, duties like honoring Pitṛs are integrated with Saguna Shiva worship: offerings and rites are ultimately dedicated to Shiva as the inner Lord (Pati), so worldly obligations become purified and oriented toward moksha.
It implies reverence to Pitṛs through śrāddha/tarpaṇa with a Shiva-centered intent—mentally offering the fruits to Lord Shiva, and supporting the practice with japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) for inner purification.
