It highlights Shiva as the Mahayogi whose knowledge is inward and immediate—He knows the unfolding of Satī’s narrative through dhyāna, showing that divine awareness governs līlā while remaining rooted in yogic stillness.
Though Shiva is ultimately beyond attributes, this verse presents Saguna Shiva (Mahesha) acting compassionately within the world—an accessible focus for devotees who approach Him through meditation, linga-worship, and remembrance of His līlās.
Dhyāna (meditative contemplation) on Mahesha—especially with japa of the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—is implied as the means to cultivate inward clarity and alignment with Shiva’s guiding presence.
