Viṣṇu’s Manifestation and Brahmā’s Hymn
naṣṭobhūnnārada mado vismayo'bhūcca me hṛdi | nirānaṃdasya ca mune'pūrṇo nijamanorathe
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse highlights the collapse of ego (mada) and the arising of inner clarity through shock and disappointment—an opening toward surrender to Śiva’s higher order, where personal desire is not the final authority.
By showing that pride and self-will lead to frustration, the verse supports Saguna Śiva worship as a discipline of humility—approaching the Liṅga with devotion so the limited self yields to the Lord’s grace and guidance.
A practical takeaway is to pair daily Liṅga-pūjā with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and a vow of humility—mentally offering one’s desires into Śiva rather than clinging to outcomes.
