कामभस्म-प्रार्थना: रत्याः शङ्करं प्रति विनयः / Rati’s Supplication to Śaṅkara regarding Kāma’s Ashes
देवा ऊचुः । धन्यस्त्वं स्मर सन्दग्धः शिवेनानुग्रहीकृतः । जीवयामास सत्त्वांशकृपादृष्ट्या खिलेश्वरः
devā ūcuḥ | dhanyastvaṃ smara sandagdhaḥ śivenānugrahīkṛtaḥ | jīvayāmāsa sattvāṃśakṛpādṛṣṭyā khileśvaraḥ
Chư Thiên nói: “Hỡi Smara (Kāma), tuy ngươi đã bị thiêu đốt, nhưng thật là phước lành, vì Śiva đã ban ân sủng cho ngươi. Nhờ ánh nhìn từ bi của Ngài—ban cho một phần sattva—Khileśvara (Đấng Chúa Tể muôn loài) đã khiến ngươi sống lại.”

By calling Śiva “Khileśvara,” the verse points to Saguna Śiva as the accessible Lord who actively governs and blesses the worlds; Linga-worship similarly approaches Śiva as the living, grace-giving presence who can purify the devotee’s nature (increase sattva).
A practical takeaway is to seek Śiva’s anugraha through daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a sattvic mind, along with simple Śiva-upacāra (Linga abhiṣeka) while contemplating His kṛpā-dṛṣṭi (compassionate glance).
