(Devasāntvana) — “Consolation/Reassurance of the Gods”
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
It establishes Śiva as Pati—the Supreme Reality who remains unchanged and unconquered, complete in Himself, and therefore the ultimate refuge for liberation beyond the shifts of Māyā.
Though Śiva is described as transcendent and unmodified, devotees approach Him through saguna worship—such as the Śivaliṅga—recognizing the Liṅga as a sacred support for meditating on the formless Lord who rules Māyā.
Meditate on Śiva with the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” contemplating Him as avikṛta (unchanging) and māyādhīśa (Lord over Māyā); this supports steadiness in japa, vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) remembrance, and inner detachment.
