vijñaptiṃ śṛṇu suprītā yasyā dāsāssadāmbike | tava devi mahādevi hīnato varṇayāmahe
Ôi Ambikā đầy ân từ, xin hoan hỷ lắng nghe lời thỉnh cầu khiêm hạ của chúng con. Ôi Devī, ôi Mahādevī—dẫu chúng con hèn kém, chẳng xứng đáng, vẫn xin dâng lời khẩn nguyện này như những kẻ hầu cận thường hằng của Mẹ.
Parvati’s attendants/servants (dāsās) addressing Goddess Parvati (Ambikā/Mahādevī)
Tattva Level: pashu

Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
It models Śaiva bhakti as humility: the devotee approaches the Divine Mother (Śakti) as a servant, surrendering pride and offering a sincere petition—an essential attitude for receiving grace (anugraha).
In Śaiva practice, Saguna worship includes reverence to Śiva together with Śakti; addressing Ambikā/Mahādevī as the compassionate power of Śiva underscores that grace flows through the Divine Couple, supporting devotion to the Liṅga with heartfelt supplication.
A practical takeaway is to begin japa (e.g., “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) or Devi-Śiva prayer with a brief vijñapti—an explicit humble request—cultivating dāsya-bhāva (servant-attitude) before worship.
