It highlights that truthful, dharmic speech pleases Dharma itself, and that divine instruction flows toward the virtuous—supporting the Shaiva view that purity of conduct steadies the soul (paśu) for devotion to Pati (Śiva).
Though the verse is narrative, it frames the inner qualification for Saguna Shiva worship: when Dharma is pleased, one becomes fit to receive guidance that culminates in right worship—outer rites (like Linga-pūjā) grounded in inner virtue.
The implied practice is disciplined speech and conduct (satya, dharma) as a preparatory sādhana; paired with steady japa of the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” it aligns one’s life with Shaiva devotion.
